Our Brews

  • Style: English Pale Ale
    Colour: Gold
    Clarity: Yeast haze; chill haze at low temperatures

    Malt Aroma & Flavour:

    • Low malt aroma and flavour with a subtle caramel character.

    Hop Aroma & Flavour:

    • Medium-low intensity, characterized by subdued floral and citrus notes.

    Bitterness:

    • Medium-low.

    Fermentation Characteristics:

    • Medium level of fruity esters.

    Body:

    • Medium-bodied with a clean hop aftertaste.

    Food Pairings:

    • Roasted chicken, fish & chips, crispy skin salmon, calamari.

    • English-style hard cheeses.

  • At 4.3% ABV, this pale ale offers a refreshing and balanced experience that's perfect for any occasion.

  • Style: English Brown Ale
    Colour: Dark brown
    Clarity: Yeast haze; chill haze at low temperatures

    • Coloured malts impart a biscuit and toasted aroma profile.

    • Roast malts contribute chocolate and coffee-like flavours, with a slightly sweet malt character.

    Hop Aroma & Flavour:

    • Very low presence.

    Bitterness:

    • Low to very low.

    Fermentation Characteristics:

    • Low to medium-low level fruity esters.

    Body:

    • Medium-bodied with a well-balanced profile of sweetness and bitterness.

    Slight perception of DMS (sweet corn) flavour and aroma.

  • Style: German Style Altbier
    Colour: Copper
    Clarity: Slightly hazy

    Malt Aroma & Flavour:

    • Medium-low malt aroma and flavour, with a notable toast aroma.

    Hop Aroma & Flavour:

    • Medium hop flavour, more pronounced than the aroma, showcasing characteristics typical of traditional German noble hops.

    Bitterness:

    • Medium bitterness, resulting in a clean, dry finish characteristic of Altbiers from Düsseldorf.

    Fermentation Characteristics:

    • Fruity esters are absent.

    Body:

    • Medium-low, providing an easy-drinking experience.

    Food Pairings:

    • Crispy skin whole fish, bratwurst, and schnitzel.

    • Potato dumplings and pretzels.

    • Apple and fruit strudel.

Naming our Thirsty, Tiger Beers

The Thirsty Tiger Brewery is a Tasmanian brewery based in St Helens with a highly recognisable Tassie icon as a center piece of the brand.  The naming of our beers follows a similar trend and uses other iconic Tasmanian animals from land and sea. 

Beaumaris Brown Ale - Lends its name from the place where the last known, recorded, captive Tasmanian Tiger died in 1936 at Hobart's Beaumaris Zoo.  Following our businesses thylacine branding, we thought this a fitting way of naming our first beer. 

Pademelon Pale Ale - Meet the Pademelon Pale Ale! Just like its namesake, the adorable Tasmanian Pademelon, this brew is approachable but full of character. Don't be fooled by its easy-drinking nature - it's got a surprisingly complex hop profile that'll keep you hopping back for more!.

Octo Altbier - Originally brewed for Oktoberfest, in the Düsseldorf Altbier style, this beer is named after the Octopus - a soft-bodied, eight-limbed mollusc that terrorises craypots around the coastlines of Tasmania.  They are also well known to be very good at predicting the winners of soccer world cup matches.

Pipehorse Pilsner - True to style International Session Pilsener. Medium-bodied, crisp and well-balanced after bitterness. Slight perception of DMS (sweet corn) flavour and aroma. Easy drinking.

Sweet Tawny Stout - The unassuming master of camouflage and a bird with a personality as quirky as its appearance! In essence, the Tasmanian Tawny Frogmouth is nature's blend of comedian and illusionist, adding a touch of whimsy to the dusk and dawn of the Tasmanian wilderness..
